Today is a special day for VV&W, as we start our celebration of 35 years serving North Alabama home buyers and sellers!
On October 13, 1985, our first ad appeared in the Huntsville Times, just after Nancy opened the firm in a small office on Gallatin Street. She was the sole broker and agent. Her mother, the indomitable Sibyl Wilkinson, managed the office.
In 1985, the MLS was embodied in a black and white book distributed every two weeks, the average mortgage rate was nearly 12.5%, and people did their market research in the classified ad section of the local newspaper.
Much has changed, but the fundamentals of personal attention and customer service have endured. They remain at the heart of our mission.
